To:  All Parents of Long Island Cheer Athletes

For those of you who haven’t met me, my name is Maureen Shevlin and I am the President of the Long Island Cheer Parent Organization.  Last night we had a meeting regarding fundraising for the upcoming cheerleading season.  We are working on several events in order to defray some of the costs for our competitions.

Everyone is welcome to participate in any of the fundraiser events and if you have any questions, please feel free to email me at snax013@aol.com or call me at 631-478-2452.  Any further information regarding our fundraising will be done via email since not all of the parents make it into the gym and don’t see all of the notices.  If you have any ideas that you would like to share, we would love to hear about them.  We could always use more help and ideas.

Minutes of Fundraising Meeting

We discussed the following:

Bob Ruvio will be in charge of the car washes.  We found it best that we have ten athletes per car wash so each child is able to make approximately $40.00.  Also, if you do pre-sell tickets you must be present at that car wash. Sign up sheets are in the viewing room at the gym and will be taken down as they fill up.

Ducks game on September 2nd is now a fundraiser.  We will be selling the tickets for $15.00 and you will get credit $6.00 per ticket you sell.  Money is due July 15th

Lottery tickets will be sold again.  The month will be October and all ticket money is due September 15th.  Lisa and Dean Gruber are in charge of the event.  Tickets are being ordered.

Denise Wruck is putting together all the information to have a Dinner/Dance along with a Chinese auction at Villa Lombardi’s.  The price will be $40.00 per person including a full sit down dinner.  We are working on getting a DJ to donate their services.  Each athlete is to make a basket, sell a minimum of 5 tickets.  We will also be doing a 50/50.  It is optional if you would like to bring kids.  Everyone is welcome.  She will need a team of people in order to do this fundraiser.  Hope Rosenkranz and Lisa Molinaro said they will help with the baskets.  Need to come up with a budget of expenses (tickets, center pieces, wrapping for baskets etc.

Dana Reino gave us information on the Spa package at T – Carlton Day Spa. The package runs $395.00 we will be selling them for $75.00 you will get $25.00 back into your account for each one you sell.  Each one you sell is good for 3 months.  We will be doing it for January, February and March.  Dana will get more info on dates etc.

Mary Zeltins and Christine Amoroso would like to do a dinner dance for the kids.  They are looking for a VFW or a fire house for free.  We had a discussion of making it a Halloween party.  They will get more information.
